History of TGB
1965
In 1965 Mr. CF Chang founded Taiwan Vespa Company Ltd. for the production of Vespa licensed scooters for the Taiwanese market. The new company also produces parts and components for the largest Italian scooter manufacturer Piaggio.
1978
Mr. CF Chang founded Taiwan Golden Bee Co. Ltd (TGB), which becomes the successor of Taiwan Vespa Company Ltd. The new company takes over the Piaggio production program for the Taiwanese market and the production of parts and components for the Italian parent company. At the same time, TGB begins with the development and manufacture of scooters of its own design. TGB scooters have been focused exclusively on exports, especially for the European market, from the outset, but they have soon begun to sell successfully around the world.
1980-1989
TGB continues and further extends the production of scooters of its own design as well as the production of spare parts for the Italian concern Piaggio, for which it exclusively produces electric starters, frames, suspensions, plastic parts and many other components. In 1980, TGB decided to further expand its activities, and since at that time virtually all scooter mounted scooters manufactured in Taiwan – one of the world’s largest scooter manufacturers – were imported from Japan, TGB started to manufacture and later develop variator gearboxes of various types. Today, TGB is one of the largest variator manufacturers in the world.
1990
TGB manufactures variators for most of Taiwan’s production and is gradually becoming the supplier of automatic gearboxes for many of the world’s leading manufacturers of scooters, quads and snowmobiles. TGB variants today work reliably in scooters, quads and motorcycles of leading world manufacturers such as Polaris, Aprilia, Piaggio, BMW, Vespa, Rotax, Peugeot, Motori Minarelli, Motori Morini, SYM and others. In its own engine, TGB produces two-stroke 50 cc engines and four-stroke engines of 125 cc to 550 cc. More than 50 developers work in their own development and research center.
1995
The ISO 9001 and QS 9000 certificates open TGB doors for further sales channels expansion. Thanks to its low price, quality workmanship, sleek design and renowned reliability of TGB scooters and ATVs, the brand has established itself well on the European market. The high reliability and affordability of TGB products have paved the way for business success, which continues today.
2003
For over 25 years, TGB has been developing and manufacturing automatic gearboxes and other components for the world’s and Taiwan’s scooter and quad bike manufacturers.
2004
A strategic decision is made in 2004: the company decides to develop a quadricycle of its own construction with the aim of conquering not Taiwanese but again the European and world markets.
